Ole Has Talent

My little Ole finally has developed a talent besides messing in the house on occasion.  Now I can take him on that Animal Planet show and meet that hotty, Mario Lopez.  I didn’t think he would ever demonstrate a talent since it seemed those genes went all into Lulu. 

Ole can climb stairs.  In our house that is a necessity since it is nothing but stairs.  Stairs to get in the house, stairs to get between floors with an occasional ladder tossed in.  Yep, unlike Lulu, he can run up and down the stairs like wildfire.  This means when its night-time he can run up and go to bed with us.  He can also run up there and take a poop.  He can run up them to escape his sister’s pounding.  He can run up and down chasing the cat.

Lulu, on the other hand, sits at the bottom and barks loudly out of frustration and fear to give the stairs a try.   I’ve tried treats and positive words to encourage her to no avail.  Even Ole has tried to coax her by going up and down the stairs during coaxing times but that just seems  to add insult to injury. To bring her to bed, I have to pick her up and carry her to the top.  Then she squirms to be put down and prance her way to the bedroom.  At least she didn’t whine last night when she slept with us.  (See earlier posts).  I think leaving her alone downstairs for several nights helped cure that problem.

I’ve been waiting for Ole’s hidden talents to come out besides being adorably cute.   We tried fetch.    I think he fetched a toy twice in his life and instead fetches Lulu when she fetches a toy.  (See earlier post).  It took him forever and bags of treats to teach him to sit and then lay down.  He still hasn’t mastered his bowels either.  Ole isn’t the most brilliant puppy, but he makes up for that in cuteness.  He’s mastered cute. 

Well, gotta go.  With the new-found talent, I have to go register Ole for the show.
